XPCT's clean peppermint

The maker's current range is six flavours and this is the mint, the one most people try first when they meet a new brand. No fruit, no spice, no clever twist. Peppermint, done simply.
What it tastes like
The maker calls it a fresh and clean peppermint taste, and there is not much to add. Peppermint comes through straight away, cool and bright, and stays that way. Tastes like a mint straight from a fresh packet. There is no sweetness fighting it and no fruit underneath, so the flavour is clear all the way through. Fresh at the start, fresh at the end. For anyone who wants a mint to taste of mint, this is the uncomplicated answer.
How strong it is
Each pouch carries 8mg, which places XPCT Mint on the line where the light band on our scale ends and the medium band begins, 8mg up to 16mg. Call it medium, at its gentlest. The maker suggests that if you prefer a moister pouch you can add a little water to the can, which is a small but handy thing to know. On our shelf, XPCT Cola/Ginger and Liquorice sit a touch higher at 8.4mg, and Raspberry/Mint and Mango & Pineapple step up to 10.4mg. So this mint is an easy everyday number, with the flavour doing more of the work than the strength.
