What Mr Blue actually is
The name gives nothing away, so here it is plainly: Maggie Mr Blue is a berry blend, led by blueberry with raspberry beside it in a dark berry mix. It is not a mint and it is not a blue raspberry sweet. Maggie is the yellow can with the green palm tree on the lid, its flavours named after Caribbean drinks and food, and it comes in two lines: Maggie Lite on the 16 cans and plain Maggie, also sold as Maggie Original, on the 60 cans. This is the 60 can, at 60mg a pouch on our shelf, with the name alone on the lid. Slim white pouches, 20 to a can, tobacco free.
What it tastes like
Blueberry first, soft and sweet, then raspberry sharpening it, and a darker berry depth underneath the two. It is a rounded, jammy flavour rather than a sharp one, and there is no cooling in it, so the berries stay warm and full from start to finish. Side by side with Summer Fruits, which is a mixed berry can, Mr Blue is the one where blueberry is clearly in charge. Side by side with Fruit Punch, it is the berry can rather than the tropical one. The one people come back for when they want a dark berry flavour with nothing else attached.
How strong it is
Each pouch carries 60mg, which places it in the extreme band on our scale, 25mg and over, and far above that line.
