Banana at Helwit's Extra Strong
Helwit makes Banana at two strengths, and this is the upper one. It carries 7.5mg a pouch, which is the top of the maker's own range, sold as Extra Strong with a black outer ring on the lid in place of the usual fraction. The format is slim, 20 pouches to a can, as every Helwit is. Helwit is made by YOIK AB in Sweden, at its own factory in Gransholm outside Växjö in Småland, and the pouches contain no tobacco. The maker says Banana began as a Helwit Concept test and won the vote for best release of 2023 before joining the range. Start here if you want banana with the most behind it.
What it tastes like
Ripe banana, sweet and creamy. The maker describes the flavour as sweet, tropical and fruity, with the essence of ripe bananas and a rich, creamy taste, and that is what comes through. The banana is soft and rounded, closer to the fruit at its ripest than to a boiled sweet, and the creaminess carries it to a smooth finish. There is no mint and no cooling in this can. Side by side with the fruit cans built on sharpness, this is the mellow one. The one people come back for when they want sweet and smooth.
How strong it is
Here is where two scales meet. Each pouch carries 7.5mg, which the maker labels Extra Strong because it is the top of Helwit's own four step range, above the 6mg cans marked 4/4.
