The Cold Dry mint, by the hundred
Greatest is a Nordic brand from Finland that built its whole range around one flavour, a cold, fresh mint it calls Cold Dry. The maker describes it as the heart of the brand, and most of its cans are variations on it. The Cold Dry Mega Can is that signature mint at 8mg, packed 200 pouches to a can instead of the usual 20. It's made by Premium Pouch Finland Oy, a Helsinki company, and the pouches are tobacco free. On our scale, 8mg sits at the start of the medium band. Side by side with the standard 8mg can, the flavour and strength are the same idea; the can is ten times the size. Start here if you've already found your Greatest.
What it tastes like
Cold Dry is a cold, fresh mint, clean from start to finish. There's no fruit in it and no obvious sweetness, just the crisp, cool character that gives the line its name. It opens cold, stays cold and finishes clean, with no change in direction along the way. The maker doesn't name a type of mint, and the flavour doesn't need one; it's simply mint, kept cold. If you've used any Greatest can before, this is the flavour you'll recognise. The one people come back for, which is rather the point of a 200 pouch can.
How strong it is
Every pouch carries 8mg of nicotine, which is where the medium band on our scale begins, from 8mg up to 16mg. That puts the Mega Can on the gentler edge of medium, a step above the brand's lightest 4mg can and comfortable for all day use. The pouches are tobacco free. Greatest lists two Mega Cans in its range, each holding 200 pouches, and this is the 8mg Cold Dry one. The strength is modest and steady, which suits a can you'll be dipping into for a long while. Measured mint, in bulk.

Who it is for
The Cold Dry Mega Can suits regular snus users who already know the Cold Dry mint and use it daily. It's the sensible choice once you've settled on 8mg as your strength and would rather restock once than ten times. It also suits anyone who shares a can at home and gets through pouches quickly.
If you haven't tried Cold Dry yet, the standard 20 pouch can at 8mg is the place to start, and Cold Dry XL offers the same mint in a larger pouch at 16mg. If you only buy one Mega Can, make it the one whose flavour you already love.
