Every mint shelf has one that wandered off from the group and came back with a rucksack and opinions about trees. In ALP's range that's Mountain Wintergreen. It's a wintergreen flavour, herbal and slightly sweet, and ALP calls it the most distinct tin in its mint set. Nobody explains the mountain, so feel free to picture your own. ALP is an American brand that set off in the United States in 2024 and reached UK shelves in July 2026. This is the 12mg tin. Boots on.
What it tastes like
Tastes like mint's outdoorsy cousin, the one who owns a proper flask. The flavour is wintergreen, which ALP describes as herbal and slightly sweet. ALP has five mint led flavours in the range and says this one tastes different from the other four. That's the whole appeal. It's still on the fresh side of the shelf, just with a greener, more herbal accent. The brand also describes its pouches as moist.
How strong it is
Each pouch holds 12mg, counted per pouch, which is how ALP labels every tin. On the shop's strength scale that's the medium band, running from 8mg up to 16mg. ALP makes each flavour at 6mg, 12mg and 18mg, so this one is the middle rung with a neighbour either side. Halfway up the mountain, if you like. Mountain Wintergreen is on the shelf at 6mg and 18mg as well. Same herbal flavour, different altitude.
