The iNic guide

iNic: four flavours, two strengths

What do you want from a short range? A clear choice, and iNic gives you one. The brand, printed on the can as iNIC, puts five cans on our shelf across two strengths. Four of them are 12mg a pouch: Berry Fusion, Peppermint, Tropical Fruit and Wintermint. The fifth is Peppermint again, this time at 18mg. So you've two questions to answer, which strength and which flavour, and neither one is hard.

This page takes the two lines from lighter to stronger, sets out what the maker says about its snus, places both strengths on our scale and describes the can. Start here, then pick your can.

12mg12mgMediumThe 12mg line is where most of the iNic range sits. Every pouch carries 12mg, which falls in the medium band on our strength scale. The pouches are slim and white, with 20 in a can. Four flavours make up the line: two crisp, cool mints, a sweet mixed berry with a tart edge, and a pineapple and passionfruit blend. It suits anyone who uses snus regularly and likes a medium strength.

18mg18mgStrongThe 18mg line is iNic at its stronger setting. Every pouch carries 18mg, which sits in the strong band on our strength scale. The pouches are slim and white, with 20 in a can. There's one flavour here, Peppermint, crisp and cool, and it's the same flavour found in the 12mg line. It suits experienced snus users who already know they like a strong pouch and a cool mint.

Medium · 12mg a pouch

12mg: four flavours in the medium band

This is the line with the choice in it. Every can is 12mg a pouch, the medium band on our scale, in a slim white pouch with 20 to a can. Side by side, the four split neatly into two mints and two fruits. Peppermint is the classic of the pair, crisp and cool. Wintermint is a crisp, cool mint too, with its own can and its own name on the shelf.

The fruits head in two directions. Berry Fusion is mixed berries, sweet with a tart edge, so it reads as a blend from the first pouch. Tropical Fruit is pineapple and passionfruit, the sunnier of the two. If you use snus regularly and want a medium strength, this is your line. If you only try one, make it Peppermint, because it's the one flavour that carries on up to 18mg.

Strong · 18mg a pouch

18mg: Peppermint in the strong band

One can, one flavour, one step up. The 18mg line is Peppermint at 18mg a pouch, which places it in the strong band on our scale and a clear step above the 12mg cans. The flavour is the one you'll know from the lighter line: peppermint, crisp and cool. The pouch is slim and white, with 20 in a can. Because the two cans share a flavour name, check the strength in the product name before you add one to your basket. This is the can for experienced snus users who want iNic at its strongest on our shelf.

What the maker says about iNic

Some brands arrive with pages of company history. iNic arrives with a short list of plain statements, so here they are as given. The maker says its pouches are tobacco free. The maker says they're made in the European Union. And the maker describes the pouch itself as white. Those three points are what we can put our name to, and we'd sooner give you three firm ones than stretch them. Everything else on this page comes from our own shelf: the flavours we stock and the strength of each can.

Where iNic sits on our strength scale

Our scale sorts snus by the nicotine in each pouch. Light is under 8mg. Medium covers 8mg up to 16mg. Strong covers 16mg up to 25mg. Extreme is 25mg and over. iNic at 12mg lands in the middle of the medium band. iNic at 18mg lands in the strong band, a little above the 16mg mark where that band begins.

So the two lines sit in neighbouring bands, with 6mg a pouch between them. For the figure, go by the mg in the product name, because that's the number our scale uses. Find your band and the line is chosen for you.

Inside the can

Both iNic lines use the same format. The pouch is slim, the pouch is white, and a can holds 20. That's true of all five cans on our shelf, so the fit is familiar whichever one you open. The lid shows the strength as a row of dots. What changes from can to can is the flavour and the strength, and that's all you need to choose between.

How to choose an iNic flavour

Strength first, flavour second. If strong is your band, the choice is made, and it's Peppermint at 18mg. If medium is your band, you've four cans in front of you, and the quick way through is mint or fruit. Mint gives you Peppermint and Wintermint, both crisp and cool. Fruit gives you Berry Fusion, sweet mixed berries with a tart edge, and Tropical Fruit, which is pineapple and passionfruit.

Can't decide? There's a box for that. iNic Bundle A holds four cans: Berry Fusion, Tropical Fruit and Wintermint at 12mg, and Peppermint at 18mg. It covers every flavour and both strengths, which makes it the quick way to meet the range. Bear in mind that its Peppermint is the 18mg can. If you'd sooner choose a single can, make it Peppermint at the strength you already use.
