The Havens guide

Havens: two flavours, two strengths, four cans

How much choice does a brand really need? Havens answers with four cans. The whole range is two flavours, Sweet Mint and Grape Cola, each in two strengths. The brand calls the lower strength the Blue Line and the higher one the Red Line. On our shelf that means 13mg a pouch or 32.5mg a pouch, and all four cans are here.

That makes Havens a quick brand to learn, with one thing worth knowing before you order. The figures printed on the lid are a different measure from the per pouch figures in our listings, so the can in your hand reads differently from this page. Choose the line first, then the flavour.

Blue Line13mgMediumThe Blue Line is Havens at 13mg a pouch, which sits in the medium band on our strength scale. It comes in a white can with a small Blue tag on the lid, and the pouches inside are slim and white. There are two flavours, a cool Sweet Mint with a touch of sweetness and a juicy, fizzy Grape Cola. It suits anyone who uses snus regularly and already buys in the medium band.

Red Line32.5mgExtremeThe Red Line is Havens at 32.5mg a pouch, well inside the extreme band on our strength scale, which starts at 25mg. It comes in a black can with a RED tag on the lid, and the pouches are slim and white. The two flavours are Sweet Mint, a cool mint with a touch of sweetness, and Grape Cola, juicy grape with fizzy cola. It suits people who already use extreme strength snus.

Medium · 13mg a pouch

Blue Line: the white can at 13mg

The Blue Line is the lighter of the two Havens lines, and the easy way to spot it is the can. It's white, with the brand name in large letters across the lid, an archer drawing a bow, and a small Blue tag near the flavour name. Every pouch is 13mg, which places the line in the upper half of the medium band on our scale. The pouches are slim and white.

Two flavours make up the line. Sweet Mint is a cool, smooth mint with a touch of sweetness. Grape Cola pairs sweet, juicy grape with a fizzy cola note, much like a grape soda. Side by side, that's one fresh can and one sweet can at a single strength. If a medium can is already your usual, this is your Havens line.

Extreme · 32.5mg a pouch

Red Line: the black can at 32.5mg

The Red Line is the stronger Havens line, and the can makes that plain. It's black, with a RED tag on the lid beside the large brand name and the archer. Every pouch is 32.5mg. Our extreme band begins at 25mg, so the Red Line sits 7.5mg inside it, a long way above the Blue Line.

Both flavours come at this strength. Sweet Mint in the black can is a cool, smooth mint with a touch of sweetness. Grape Cola is sweet, juicy grape with classic cola fizz. The flavour names are identical across the two lines, so check the colour of the can and the tag when you order. If an extreme can is already your usual, start here.

Who makes Havens

Havens is a British own brand, created by the founder of the online pouch shop Snus Haven. In the brand's own account, the founder saw a gap in the market while running that shop and developed Sweet Mint and Grape Cola to fill it. The company behind the shop is a private limited company registered in England. The can prints the name with an apostrophe, as HAVEN'S, so that's the spelling to look for on the lid.

Where Havens sits on our strength scale

Our scale sorts every can by the nicotine in one pouch. Light is under 8mg. Medium runs from 8mg up to 16mg, strong from 16mg up to 25mg, and extreme is 25mg and over. The Blue Line at 13mg is medium. The Red Line at 32.5mg is extreme. Havens has no can in the strong band, so the step from one line to the other is a big one, two and a half times the figure.

Now the lid. Our listings say 13mg and 32.5mg, and the can shows neither. The lid prints 20mg MEDIUM on the white can and 50mg STRONG on the black can. Those numbers are the brand's own measure, milligrams in each gram of pouch, and our figures count what is in one pouch. So the white can marked 20 is our 13mg can, and the black can marked 50 is our 32.5mg can.

What's in the can

Havens pouches are slim and white in both lines, and the can describes them as tobacco free nicotine pouches. That wording runs around the top of the lid, above the flavour name, the brand name and the archer, who appears again on the side of the can. Colour tells you the line, white for Blue and black for Red. For the number of pouches, go by the count printed on the can in your hand.

How to choose a Havens flavour

Choose the line first, by strength. Then ask whether you lean fresh or sweet. Sweet Mint is the fresh one, a cool, smooth mint with a touch of sweetness. Grape Cola is the sweet one, juicy grape with fizzy cola, the taste of a grape soda. If mint is your usual, Sweet Mint is the natural pick. If you'd sooner reach into the drinks fridge, make it Grape Cola.
