ALP Chilled Mint 12mg is a smooth mint with moderate cooling, at the middle strength of three. ALP is American by birth, started there in 2024, and has been on UK shelves since July 2026. Chilled Mint is one of the flavours it carried over from its home range. Middle mint, middle strength, and a sensible place to get your bearings.
What it tastes like
ALP describes Chilled Mint as a smooth mint with moderate cooling, and the word smooth is the one to hold on to. This is a straightforward mint flavour, clean and even. The cooling is present and measured. As ALP ranks its mints, Sweet Mint and Spearmint are the lightest, Frostbite is the most intense, and Chilled Mint sits between them. Mountain Wintergreen is the herbal one, off to the side. Side by side, that makes Chilled Mint the reference point for the rest. The brand describes its pouches as moist.
How strong it is
Each pouch holds 12mg, and ALP labels every tin by the pouch. On the shop's scale that is the medium band, which runs from 8mg up to 16mg, and 12mg sits squarely in the middle of it. Every ALP flavour is made at 6mg, 12mg and 18mg. For Chilled Mint, the 6mg tin sits in the light band below and the 18mg tin in the strong band above. The mint is the same in all three.
